Creative Foundation and Lions Club International present trophy to Dr. Neelima Desai

On the occasion of Diwali, Creative Foundation, in conjunction with Lions Club International, felicitated Dr. Neelima Desai with a trophy, at a function held on October 25, 2011, at the Yeshwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Pune.

The trophy was given in recognition of Navkshitij's contribution to the field of trekking and for the innovative activities at Navkshitij, such as. Natya Mahotsav and Street Plays.

It was a well attended function, with celebrities like Girish Bapat and Mangesh Tendulkar present. oOn the occasion, there was a special  music programme by Sridhar Phadke.

Joy of Giving Event: Walkathon and Street Play on Terrorism and Non-Violence

On the first day of the Joy of Giving Week, Navkshitij, a rehabilitation home for Mentally Challenged Adults (above age 18), organized a Walkathon on the busy Fergusson College Road. The mentally challenged friends (MCF) walked from Wadeshwar chowk on Fergusson Road to Sambhaji Park on Jangli Maharaj Road. At three spots – at Wadeshwar chowk, outside Fergusson College and in front of Sambhaji Park –, the MCF put up a Street Play on the burning issue of Terrorism and Non-violence. The topic was also specially selected, since today is Gandhi Jayanti.

Amol Gangapurkar was the anti-hero “Terrorism”; Pallavi Parekh was Bharat Mata; Gautam Gat was Mahatma Gandhi and Sushma Kulkarni was the citizen who reiterates the common man’s faith in India. Aditi Desai, Pooja Khapre, Murtuza Huseini, Harshada Shintra, Shalaka Sathe, Rekha Petkar, Prafulla Brahme, Raj Dhekne and a few others played the role of the common Indian citizens.

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, our President Dr. Neelima Desai was felicitated by Shivpratap Pratishthan, Pune, for her commitment to teaching/training. She received a trophy at the hands of by Dr. S. N. Navalgundkar, ex-Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Pune.
